State police arrested a man Tuesday morning in connection to the death of a 2-year-old girl in Menallen Township. Emmanuel Thomas Dennis, 33, of Menallen Township, is charged with criminal homicide, accused of abusing Margaret Nunn over a number of days. Police alleged he hit the toddler multiple times until she was unresponsive, kicked her across the floor, and refused to let the child’s mother take her for medical attention.

Amateur radio clubs across the country are getting ready to participate in the annual American Radio Relay League Field Day next weekend. The Washington Amateur Communications (WACOM) will be setting up June 22 and 23 at Mingo County Creek Park in Finleyville at the historic log cabin near the observatory. In Fayette County, the Uniontown Amateur Radio Club will operate off of the club’s property at 433 Old Pittsburgh Road, Uniontown.
