So he was elated when he got the call telling him he had been selected to play in the 69th annual DFRC Blue-Gold All-Star Game, held June 20 at Delaware Stadium. However, that dream almost didn’t come true.

The 69th annual Blue-Gold All-Star Football Game is Friday at Delaware Stadium, where several local players will compete in their last high school football game. What started out as just a football game for a good cause has evolved into more of an event that includes band members, school ambassadors and cheerleaders.

Last weekend was a big one on the local college diamonds as Wilmington University’s softball team advanced to the Super Regionals, and its baseball team made it to the East Regionals. The softball team won a winner-take-all game on Sunday afternoon in the NCAA East Region 2 Tournament at crosstown rival Goldey-Beacom College. It was a scoreless game through seven innings before a walk-off RBI single by Sydney Hatch in the bottom of the eighth clinched it for the Wildcats. kAm“(92E 2?
