With 1:24 remaining in the first overtime period, the Hurricanes forward diced his way through a line of Elsik defenders and found the back of the net for the decisive goal in his team's 1-0 victory.

GEORGETOWN - After marching through an impeccable 88-day span without suffering defeat, the Stratford girls soccer team finally met its match in the final game of its season. The Spartans came up short of winning the program's first state championship with a 1-0 loss to Flower Mound Marcus in the UIL Class 6A Division II title game Saturday at Birkelbach Field. Stratford (22-3-3) saw its 19-game winning streak snapped with the loss.

Dallas Highland Park High School forfeited the UIL Class 5A Division II boys soccer state championship Friday night, just hours after claiming the title on the field with a 2-0 victory against Liberty Hill. According to the UIL, the forfeiture came after Highland Park staff discovered an ineligible player was used during the match, and an investigation by the school's administration confirmed the violation. According to Highland Park ISD, the district self-reported the infraction.
