Blackburn billionaires Mohsin and Zuber Issa have completed the sale of the majority of their EG Group's UK and Ireland operations to Asda. The deal, which was first announced in May, will see the Blackburn-headquartered group's UK&I fuel, foodservice, grocery and merchandise business taken on by the supermarket giant. The EG Group, owned by Blackburn brothers Mohsin and Zuber Issa, has reported a drop in profits. Blackburn-headquartered EG Group has posted an earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of $563m for the six months to the end of June compared to the $625m it reported during the same period in 2022. Its revenue also dipped from $4.7bn to $4.m, BusinessLive reports. EBITDA is a widely used measure of core corporate profitability.
