Seasonable temperatures continue Thursday in Northern California ahead of a warm-up this weekend.Meteorologist Tamara Berg said Thursday's forecast high for downtown Sacramento is 72 degrees, similar to the 71 degrees recorded Wednesday. The average for this time of year is 74 degrees.Clouds are expected in the morning as a cool onshore breeze flows in. By late morning, the skies will be mostly sunny.A few isolated showers are possible south of Highway 50 in the Sierra.

A Northern California Republican Congressman who was called out during a Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-led rally has responded to their jabs toward him. Kevin Kiley represents Congressional District 3, which is geographically the largest district in Northern California. He was born in Rocklin, praised by President Donald Trump and fought to replace Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom in his recall election, which he soundly beat back.

Unsettled conditions in the Sierra will likely lead to thunderstorms on Wednesday in the Sierra. The KCRA 3 weather team is issuing an Impact Day specifically for the Sierra region because thunderstorms could lead to brief heavy downpours, gusty winds and small hail. The best chances of thunderstorms are from noon to 8 p.m. Areas at elevations above 5,000 feet are most likely to experience thunderstorms. People who live in that region are advised to avoid open spaces.
