The continued price growth across Sydney is far from even. The latest data from PropTrack puts the strongest price rises occurring on Sydney’s outskirts. Especially in the west, the outer southwest and the southwest where values are up 5 per cent in the year to March. Sydney’s weakest market was on the northern beaches where there was 1 per cent annual growth. Sydney’s east sat at 3 per cent.

NewsInternational comedian Celeste Barber and her husband Api Robin have sold their former Central Coast home. The couple, now based at Tweed Heads, previously called Long Jetty home for five years before making the move north in 2019. They paid $565,000 for the five-bedroom home in 2014, when Barber and Robin, a tree surgeon, had two young children. The two-level home was built in the 1980s on just over 500sq m. It has its main living, with an adjoining sun room, on the second level.

The Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) is a national investment vehicle, launched with fanfare by the Albanese Government in late 2023, that provides funding to increase social and affordable housing. But it is no quick fix in addressing the pressing need across Australia. Just 29 projects have been approved under round one as of March 2025. These will deliver 2107 homes, with more than 90 per cent being apartments. Just 400 homes have been completed.
