Families are calling for a speed camera on part of the A34. Stoke-on-Trent City Council reduced the speed limit on the northbound carriageway of the A34 Stone Road, near Hanford roundabout, from 40mph to 30mph after residents complained they could not get in and out of their drives safely due to motorists travelling too fast. But Stone Road residents say the speed limit cut has not solved the problem. Now they want a speed camera installed.

Tunstall Memorial Gardens, situated between the town centre and Tunstall Park, has become a hang out place for youths, drug users and the homeless. Weapons and drug paraphernalia are often found in the overgrown shrubbery and a pavilion has been the subject of vandalism and arson attacks.

Families living near a North Staffordshire takeaway do not want it to open any later. Newcastle Pizza initially applied to 'extend late-night refreshments' at Caprinos, in Liverpool Road, Newcastle, until 3am Sunday to Thursday and until 4am on Friday and Saturday. But after receiving an objection from Newcastle Borough Council's environmental protection team the applicant has agreed to compromise and now seeks permission to stay open until 2am Sunday to Thursday and 3am on Friday and Saturday.
