SAN ANTONIO - City leaders are beginning discussions on building a second Animal Care Services (ACS) facility. District 2 Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez is leading the push, saying the need is outgrowing the current facility. "ACS has been under-resourced for well over a decade at this point," McKee-Rodriguez said. "What this proposal demands is increased capacity, increased visibility, and increased resources," he said.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Danielle Henderson, 34, was sentenced to six years in prison for her role in a 2023 dog attack that left a man with two amputated legs. She will also need to pay restitution. In August 2023, police say a German Shepherd and a pit bull belonging to Henderson viciously attacked Max de Los Santos, 76 at the time, leaving him with serious wounds to his neck, arm, and leg. Doctors did their best to help him but ended up having to amputate both of his legs.
