GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Greenville Little League City Championship Series began on Thursday night, with Jarman Auto Sales taking Game One over Kiwanis 2-1. Jarman’s Akeem Brown got the start on the mound, and made sure his defense wasn’t too busy. Brown notched thirteen strikeouts through his six innings of work. In the second inning, Jarman Auto Sales answered Kiwanis only run, as Davis Rogerson drove in a run to make it a 1-1 game.

DURHAM, N.C. (WNCT) — Duke University has found its next head baseball coach after Chris Pollard left to take the same job at the University of Virginia. They didn’t have to look very far as Wake Forest pitching coach Corey Muscara has been named the new leader. Muscara is known as one of the nation’s best pitching minds and now, he will try to parlay that success into being the head coach at Duke.

TARBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — The Tarboro River Bandits and the Edenton Steamers met on the diamond for and Old North State League matchup. Before the game, ECU baseball’s Parker Byrd receiving the ceremonial first pitch from Lewis Anderson, who was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2024. Lewis threw out the first pitch, got a chance to meet Byrd, and took pictures with both teams before the game.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — East Carolina Football is now just 85 days away from kicking off the 2025 season, when the Pirates will head up to Raleigh for a Military Bowl rematch against NC State. Blake Harrell is also halfway through his first offseason as a the Head Coach of the Pirates after having the interim tag removed in November. WNCT’s Brian Bailey sat down with Coach Harrell to talk about how the Pirates are hitting the ground running with fall camp on the horizon.

Rose High School made their dreams come true on Monday when they signed their National Letters of Intent, and announcing where they will continue their academic and basketball careers. Justin Grimes committed to play at UNC Pembroke, Malachi Green will stay close to home to play at Pitt Community College, and TJ Brown will head up the road to Louisburg College.
