GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — While some of the NCHSAA baseball and softball playoff teams had their games were postponed due to rain Tuesday night, May 13, 2025, others took to the fields. In 2A baseball, Southwest Edgecombe survived Seaforth, 4-3, to advance to the fourth round to take on the winner of East Carteret and Midway which will take place Wednesday night. In the 1A bracket, Pamlico County had its season end in a 3-2 loss to Voyager Academy.

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The ping pong balls fell in favor of the Dallas Mavericks as they will have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The San Antonio Spurs will pick second and the Philadelphia 76ers will pick third. The Charlotte Hornets will have the fourth pick and the Utah Jazz will round out the top five. Duke star Cooper Flagg is the presumptive No. 1 pick and would go to Dallas if that comes to fruition.

Game one of the double header was back and forth from the beginning. The Roadrunners took an early lead in the first inning after an RBI single, the Pirates would respond almost immediately with a John Collins RBI to tie the game.
