The organizers of the World Dog Surfing Championships in Pacifica said the event is at risk of not happening this year. On Wednesday, organizers told KPIX that the cost to hold the event has increased each year for the last four years. "The costs to hold it in Pacifica had increased by 100% over a 2-3 year period, and this year those costs have increased by yet another 42%," a spokesperson said.

One of the teen girls who survived a deadly Marin County crash on April 18 was released from the hospital on Tuesday, a family spokesperson said. Although she is out of the hospital, Marley Barclay's family said she has a long road to recovery. "Marley was released from Oakland Children's hospital yesterday and her parents are grateful to have her safe at home. She has a long road to recovery ahead of her, both mentally and physically," spokesperson Maxwell Szabo said on Wednesday.

A suspect in a random attack in the San Francisco Castro District was charged in connection with the incident, the district attorney's office said on Tuesday. He was identified as 34-year-old Andrew Davais by the DA's office. On Sunday, a man was standing with his wife near Castro and Market streets when he was punched in the face without provocation, the DA's office said. The victim then fell backward and hit his head.

A pair of East Bay property developers are charged with trying to bribe an Antioch city councilmember for favorable treatment on a residential project, the Department of Justice said. David Sanson, 60, of Philipsburg, Montana, and Trent Sanson, 33, of Walnut Creek, face conspiracy and bribery charges, the DOJ said. David Sanson is the CEO of the Concord-based company, and his son is the vice president.

PIX Now afternoon edition 4/21/25 The victim in a Concord deadly drive-by shooting was a local youth baseball coach, the Concord Junior Giants commissioner confirmed. Omar Gonzalez was killed in the early morning of April 14. Police said officers were in the area of Monument Boulevard and Meadow Lane when they heard several gunshots. They responded to the scene and found Gonzalez near the intersection of Monument Boulevard and Reganti Drive. Police said he died at the scene.
