Es un clamor entre los científicos que, si queremos garantizar la habitabilidad del planeta, es necesario un esfuerzo mundial inmenso para eliminar las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero, así como los impactos negativos que la actividad humana tiene sobre el planeta . Es lo que llamamos mitigación. Dado que las consecuencias negativas del cambio climático son ya una realidad, y se mantendrán durante décadas o siglos, es obvio que, además de la mitigación, necesitamos adaptación.

És el que en diem mitigació. Atès que les conseqüències negatives del canvi climàtic ja són una realitat, i es mantindran durant dècades o segles, és obvi que, a més de la mitigació, ens cal adaptació.
