    University of Houston baseball head coach Todd Whitting will return next season, a source said Thursday. Whitting will enter his 16th season in 2026. He has one year left on his contract. Over his 15 seasons at UH, Whitting has posted a record 473-362-1. Since the winning five AAC titles between 2014-18, the Cougars have struggled to recapture some the magic and have missed the postseason six straight seasons.

    All other eligibility requirements for coaches remain unchanged, the NFF said in a statement.  To be considered for the College Football Hall of Fame, coaches must have served as a head coach for a minimum of 10 seasons and must have coached at least 100 games. Coaches become eligible for consideration three full seasons after retirement or immediately following retirement if they are at least 70 years of age. Active coaches become eligible upon reaching the age of 75.

    University of Houston point guard Milos Uzan plans to return for his final college season. Uzan, a 6-foot-4 rising senior, will withdraw his name from the NBA draft and play for the Cougars during the 2025-26 season, a source said Tuesday. He had until Wednesday to decide whether to return to school or stay in the draft. Meanwhile, guard Pop Isaacs, who committed to the Cougars in the offseason, will instead transfer to Texas A&M, On3 Sports reported.
