ProPublica is a non-profit organization located in New York City. It identifies itself as an independent newsroom that focuses on investigative journalism aimed at serving the public good. In 2010, it made history by becoming the first online news outlet to receive a Pulitzer Prize, awarded for a story by one of its reporters that was featured in The New York Times Magazine and on ProPublica.org.
