New Published May 12, 2025 8:37 AM FOUNATIN, Colo. (KRDO) - Students at Fountain-Fort Carson High School has a "Green Team" that's feeling empowered like never before thanks to a state-wide summit. The D-8 school recently sent its "green team" to Carbondale for the Colorado Youth Climate Summit. It's where 50 students from across the state came together to inspire action to combat climate change.

Published May 9, 2025 7:31 AM COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) - If disaster were ever to strike, many students from Discovery High School would now able to to respond. Students at the D-3 school have been training for weeks in emergency response. It all culminated this week during a realistic simulation of a train crash -- all to become certified emergency responders. The students are now trained in CPR, First Aid, Stop The Bleed and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).

New Published May 2, 2025 7:30 AM Mesa Ridge High School is proud of what a group of students recently accomplished over the course of several blood drives. Vitalant, a nationwide blood donation center, recognized the Widefield D-3 school as being the host of one of the best blood drives in the state. MRHS has a club called HOSA, a group for future health professionals, which hosted the blood drives.

New Published April 30, 2025 7:41 AM Two very talented students from Monument recently competed in New York City in a music competition touted as one of the best in the world. Izzy Krems and Keegan Owen are both seniors at Palmer Ridge High School. They were selected as national finalists for the Music International Grand Prix. Izzy started singing in local pop-rock bands five years ago and recently found her passion for jazz.

It's called ALLIES (Academy for Literacy, Learning and Innovation Excellence). And twice a year, they host "Dyslexia Night," a special night to help parents better understand what their children are going through.
