In 1943 and the first half of 1944 the Mighty 8th Air Force had 2 primary jobs. Establish air supremacy over Europe and take out targets to limit the German Army's ability to fight in World War II. The 8th Air Force played a major role in defeating Nazi Germany in World War 2But that success came with stunning losses. 26,000 of those airmen were killed during the war.

The people behind the Heritage Center spent over a year working on the exhibit and a brand new documentary that features an interview with the late Larry Taylor from 2023 that previously hadn't been seen before.
