A Tracy Man, Ryan Patrick Swanson, was sentenced on felony burglary charges over a theft that happened in Walnut Grove last May. According to court documents, on May 28, 2023, a Redwood County deputy spoke with the victim in Walnut Grove. The victim stated several items had been taken from his garage, including a saw. He also stated he saw a Dodge pickup truck in the area, with three people in it. Two days later, the deputy was sent out on another report of a Walnut Grove theft.

Allen Davis, age 72, of Olivia died Saturday, May 18, 2024 at the Olivia Hospital. A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, May 23rd, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia. A private family burial will follow the visitation at the Olivia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Allen Dean Davis was born August 11, 1951 at Olivia, MN to Berdin and Patricia (Helmer) Davis. He grew up in Olivia and graduated from Olivia High School.

Alvin C. Wille, age 100, of Lamberton, MN died on May 12, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Lamberton, MN. A memorial service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Lamberton, MN, on Thursday at 11:00 am. The clergy will be Chaplain Noel Wetter. Interment will be at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Lamberton, MN.

Candidates for U.S. senator, U.S. representative, state senator, state representative, and open judicial positions can file with the Secretary of State or the county auditor where they live. Other candidates must file with their county auditor, municipal clerk, or school district clerk. The filing window will close on June 4th.

Donald A. Nazarenus, 97 of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at Faith United Methodist Church in Sleepy Eye followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm. The clergy will be Pastor Michael Baker. Interment will be at Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye. Arrangements are with Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye.
