    On Sunday afternoon, No. 25 Pitt women’s gymnastics (3-2, 0-2 ACC) lost out to No. 15 Stanford (5-0, 2-0 ACC) 194.550-196.175, in the first-ever meeting between the two. Stanford shone in the clash, claiming three team event victories. Last time out, the Panthers lost out narrowly to Clemson but garnered a score greater than 195.000 for the second time this season.

    This weekend, Pitt athletics will look for success near and far as swim and dive, track and field and wrestling travel to Texas, Virginia and North Carolina while women’s gymnastics looks to claim its first home win. Swim and divePitt swim and dive is preparing to compete in the Tri-Meet at SMU this week. At 6 p.m. on Friday, the Panthers will race SMU in an exhibition meet, and on Saturday, Pitt will revisit the Mustangs and face Utah starting at noon.

The Panthers entered the competition brimming with confidence after a strong season opener, where they triumphed in the Next Level Podium Challenge. Despite their momentum, they fell just short of Clemson.
