    PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Parkersburg South senior Lex Wigal is signing with Fairmont State to compete in cross country for the Fighting Falcons. Wigal said he chose the school because he has been impressed with their cross country team and he is looking to pursue architecture. At Fairmont State, he believes he will reach greater heights and become one of the best runners at the school. He said he is really excited to get started with the Fighting Falcons.

    Share PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) - Parkersburg South senior Jetta Wright will be heading to Morgantown as she is signing with West Virginia University to be a part of the cheer team. She was selected for the Mountaineers’ Blue team for the 2025-26 season. Wright said she chose WVU because she was impressed with their cheerleading and she has expressed interest in being a part of a co-ed squad. She believes it will be a challenge having to balance cheering for the Mountaineers and school.
