LOS ANGELES - After just six picks in this year's NFL Draft, an already-full roster didn't have many spots open for the new crop of rookies. I have predicted that all of the rookie draft picks will make the team, however. The Rams are also still thin in a few areas, including cornerback.

LOS ANGELES - This year's L.A. Rams draft had all the feel of a team fine-tuning select areas in preparation to make a real run at a championship, without losing its substance afterward. The Rams' six picks - including three trades up on Day 3 - are the fewest they have used since 2016. They also added a first-round pick in 2026 via Atlanta after trading out of the first round Thursday night.

Head coach Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams very much wanted to use their first pick on a skill player, and did so at No. 46 with their selection of Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson on Friday. Ferguson, 6-foot-5 and 247 pounds, will join a full room but one with questions and in need of improvement. Veteran Tyler Higbee, a longtime favorite player of McVay's, is on the last year of his contract and was recovering from multiple knee surgeries most of last season.
