    The River Run Centre is ready for a new season celebrating live shows. Local band the Flamingos helped kick off the “It’s Really Live!” 2025-2026 season on Wednesday, May 28 at a special event. “Considering the theme this year, how could we not have some live music?” said Kasia Rusiniak, program manager. “There’s definitely some energy back in the building and we’re really excited.”This year’s highlights include performances by musicians Tom Morello, Serena Ryder, Jann Arden, Valdy and more.

    314 Woolwich St. has a longer history than some might think. Listed as being built in 1875 it has had many owners in its 150 years. The one-story stucco-finished home on the corner of Woolwich Street and McTague Street has a central doorway, a window to each side, and a small addition on the back. The exterior has been changed over the years from stucco to false brick, at least two other types of siding, and back to stucco again.

    The festival’s executive director, Cinthuja Leon, said there will be more local performers this year than ever before. “Everyone wants to come and express their talents,” she said. “We have such a vibrant and growing community.” Leon said groups are joining together and finding ways to showcase their cultures which helps preserve their identity. Folks are also learning about and cheering on others, which is a unique opportunity for everyone.
