Fox Chapel Borough officials and the Fox Chapel Police Department are looking to beef up dog adoption awareness with a new program. A rescue dog named Mr. Beefaroni was the first of many dogs that will hopefully find their furever homes through the “K9 Officer for a Day” initiative. The program is sponsored by the Fox Chapel Police Department in collaboration with Fox Chapel Borough.

Jun. 14—Green is the way to go for a Fox Chapel teen with a passion for recycled-inspired sustainable fashion. Raina Guzman of Fox Chapel was named a Junk Kouture New York World finalist in the 2025 Junk Kouture World Final competition. Junk Kouture is marketed as the world's first sport for creative teens and is a free program open to students ages 12-19, in which contestants create high-end couture from recycled junk.

"I learned so much in five days I thought my head was going to explode," said Grandizio, originally from Greenville, S.C.Grandizio opened a Fox's Pizza Den on April 2 in O'Hara. She immersed herself in pizza world by shadowing for several days at a Fox's in Plum.

A tranquil green space is available for public rental in Fox Chapel. The Fritz Mitnick Welcome Garden & Porch is located on the left side of the Cooper-Siegel Community Library. Library officials are looking to spread “go green” awareness about the serene space, in the hopes that more folks take advantage of what they say is an affordable alternative to pricey venues. The garden was established in 2011 and is maintained by the Fox Chapel Garden Club.
