    St. John’s Junior School and Olympic Junior School, both from Nairobi Region, have won this year’s M-PESA Jr. NBA National Championships in an exciting finals held at Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa. St. John’s Junior School beat host’s, Aga Khan Academy, 30–23 to win the boys’ title. They reached the final after a strong 42–20 win against Siaya Central Juniors. Aga Khan had defeated St. Joseph RC 66–53 in their semi-final.

    The body of a man who was buried under an 11-storey building that was demolished in Mombasa’s Corner ya Kilifi area has been retrieved. Yusuf Ali Abdi’s body was retrieved from under the rubble of the 11-storey demolished building on Sunday morning, four days after the controlled demolition. The deceased was buried under the building on 2nd April when it first tilted causing the first floor of the 80 percent complete building to collapse.

    Five individuals have been arraigned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Mombasa in connection with a fraudulent land registration scheme involving a 12-acre parcel in Miritini, Mombasa County, valued at over sh.150 million. The suspects, Edward Marenye Kiguru, Abubakar Madey, Joseph Matheka, Mahmoud Abdalla Mahmoud, and Mohamed Saleh Hassan, are accused of illegally transferring ownership of the land, originally registered to Kingorani Investment Limited in the early 1990s.

    President William Ruto has confirmed that the construction of Nairobi’s Talanta Sports City is on track and will be completed by December 2025. Speaking during an inspection tour of the site on Friday, the President expressed satisfaction with the pace of work, noting that over 3,300 workers are currently engaged—2,000 during the day and 1,300 at night—at the 60,000-seater stadium. “With this momentum, the Talanta Sports City will be ready by December 2025,” said President Ruto.
