AbstractProtein translation is crucial for fear extinction, a process vital for adaptive behavior and mental health, yet the underlying cell-specific mechanisms remain elusive. Using a Tet-On 3G genetic approach, we achieved precise temporal control over protein translation in the infralimbic medial prefrontal cortex (IL) during fear extinction.

India has surpassed China for the first time since 2009, claiming the top spot as the primary source of international students. During the 2023-2024 academic year, the number of Indian students studying in the United States surged by 23% to 331,602, while Chinese international student enrollment dropped by 4.2% to 277,398.

[Editor’s note: Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, author, and researcher Ian Johnson recently published his newest book, Sparks: China’s Underground Historians and Their Battle for the Future. The book challenges the stereotype that the state has quashed all free thought in China, revealing instead a country engaged in one of humanity’s great struggles: the battle of memory against forgetting.
