A new program under the private Christian university seeks to help address Idaho's staffing gap while providing Treasure Valley students with access to professional healthcare training. "When we look at different markets, we're looking at if there's a need for nursing programs - and that need is definitely here," GCU Nursing Services Executive Director Danielle Edwards said.

Researchers have identified a new species of squirrel in Idaho called the Snake River Plains ground squirrel. Like its name suggests, the species of squirrel lives along the Snake River Plain in southern Idaho. It was previously thought to be a subspecies of a different type of squirrel - until genetics revealed its unique identity.
