I have a theory, and it’s a big one. Bear with me here. Last week, we discussed the theory that the legendary actor Katharine Hepburn might have identified as trans or nonbinary if those labels were more widely available when Kate was alive. This week, we’re diving into a deeper theory concerning Amelia Earhart and their mysterious disappearance in the 1930s. We begin our story with—who else?—Gore Vidal.

On Tuesday, a District Judge placed a temporary blockage on Trump’s executive order denying lifesaving gender affirming care to trans people in federal prisons. The lawsuit, led by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Transgender Law Center, culminated in Senior District Judge Royce C. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, formerly a Fox News host, recently announced that he is stripping the name Harvey Milk from the USNS Harvey Milk, an announcement specifically revealed in a jab at the LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month, Military.com reports. This ship, the first to be named after a gay rights icon, was launched in 2021 when former President Joe Biden revealed its name. I didn’t know what I was in for when I picked up David B. Feinberg’s Eighty-Sixed from the wonderful Bookends used bookstore in Florence, MA. But the cover intrigued me—along with the admittedly cursed blurb about Feinberg being a gay W**** A****. I’m about 100 pages in now, and I must admit I’m loving it.

Amid the excitement fans are feeling over tonight’s impending trailer drop for Wicked: For Good, one of the series’ stars chimed in with, debatably, an even more pressing announcement: every main character in Wicked is queer. So said Marissa Bode, who plays Nessarose. In a recent interview for INTO’s own 25 Under 25 series, Bode shared her opinion on the queer makeup of Wicked’s cast of characters. “The straights are gonna get mad at me for saying this,” Bode said.
