Boulders of petrified wood, jade and quartz — each of them weighing about a ton — sparkle in the sun outside the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art in Oak Brook. Tucked away in a suburban office park, the Lizzadro is a hidden gem that highlights lapidary, the art of collecting, carving, polishing, setting and displaying precious stones and minerals. One of the first treasures you see is a towering incense burner made of extremely rare blue jade.
