NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk Admirals announced on Tuesday the multi- year contract extension of general manager and head coach Jeff Carr. The Admirals finished with a 43-point difference between the 2022-23 season (46) and the 2023-24 season (89) under Carr’s time as head coach thus far. Carr was named the Admirals’ Assistant Coach in August 2022 and was promoted to head coach three months later.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Paris Olympics are just under five weeks away and Team USA is starting to take form. In the case of swimming, UVA will be well represented with both current and former Virginia swimmers having clinched a spot. Todd DeSorbo, who has led the Cavaliers to four straight national championships, is also the USA Head Coach. In 2021, DeSorbo sent four swimmers to Tokyo who claimed four Olympic medals.

BUDAPEST, Hungary — Princess Anne grad and BMX rider Justin Dowell has punched his second ticket to the Olympics. After scoring 90.82 points to finish fifth in the Men’s BMX Freestyle at the OQS Budapest on Saturday, Dowell will represent Hampton Roads at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. A winner of two world championships, he’s received enough points to automatically advance to the games being just one of six athletes to do so. 🙌 @OLYMPICS HERE THEY COME.
