The state Department of Children and Families (DCF) is honoring fathers involved with their agency in a unique way ahead of Father's Day Weekend. On Thursday, the company invited its clients to The Vue in Hamden for a free round of golf. "I'm just having fun. That's what golf's about. A new quasi-public agency funded by the state is working toward a solution to combat Connecticut's housing crisis. The Connecticut Municipal Development Authority (CMDA) was developed from a state law passed in 2024 and was given $60 million in state funding to get started. Pratt & Whitney workers are on the picket lines on Friday for the fifth day in a strike and some federal lawmakers are joining them. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union (IAM) said more than 3,000 members from Pratt & Whitney's East Hartford and Middletown locations are on strike. Wednesday is the day. If you're flying anywhere in the U.S., your standard, state-issued ID without the gold star in the corner will no longer get you through the gates at the airport. The state Department of Motor Vehicles says over 2 million people in our state have a REAL ID and 31,000 of them were processed last month. This change is decades in the making with the idea coming about after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
