The Rose Parade draws hundreds of thousands of revelers to Pasadena every year. But if you want a unique personal viewing of the floats, I've got a little secret to share with you. Every year, a couple days before and after the Rose Parade — you can check out many of the floats as they slowly wind their way through the streets of the San Gabriel Valley, going from Fiesta Floats in Irwindale to Pasadena. Residents know it as their annual disruption to traffic.

The Independent Shakespeare Co. has returned to the old LA Zoo in Griffith Park for another summer season of free outdoor performances, this year with an immersive production of As You Like It. A different kind of stagingThe play is performed for the first time in the round and makes use of the abandoned zoo facilities at the location. The construction of a permanent performing arts space at the Old Zoo has left the Independent Shakespeare Co. without access to its usual temporary stage.
