MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - Two people are facing charges after a police chase in the Myrtle Beach area on Thursday morning. Officers were shot at during the chase in Myrtle Beach that later ended in a crash, according to the city’s top cop. Myrtle Beach Chief Amy Prock said in a video posted to Facebook that around 8:15 a.m., officers were in the area of South Ocean Boulevard near 17th and 18th Avenue South when they saw a suspicious car.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – The sound of revving engines will fill the Grand Strand next week. The Myrtle Beach Spring Bike Rally begins on Friday, and bikers will notice something new. For the first time in the bike rally’s 80-year history, there will be a Welcome Center for bikers.

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - A project that has been in talks in the city of Conway for months has finally cleared all of its hurdles, but residents are still skeptical. Conway City Council approved a final reading Monday night that will clear the way for more than 1,000 new homes near the intersection of Juniper Bay Road and Highway 378. This almost 450-acre proposal has been in the works for almost a year but was deferred until last month.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - Tropical Storm Debby’s impacts may stay in Horry County for a little while longer, as water continues to rise on the Intracoastal Waterway. One group of locals who know the impacts of flooding all too well is those who live on the ICW in Socastee. Residents there, like James Hucks, said they are used to flooding by now, and have their preparations down pat. Hucks has lived along the Intracoastal Waterway for 44 years.

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - People in the North Strand saw everything Tuesday-- from a tornado warning to flooding that halted traffic on busy streets. WMBF News spoke with some people in the area who said they’ve never been in a situation like this. “[It’s] weird, new. Something new,” said Haedyn Bruggenwirth, who is visiting from North Carolina. For others, Tropical Storm Debby isn’t their first rodeo.
