Empower Pharmacy, a Houston-based compounding pharmacy, has voluntarily recalled more than 8,000 vials of testosterone injections over quality concerns, according to Food and Drug Administration records posted this week. Testosterone is generally used to treat men whose bodies don't make enough natural testosterone. The specific medication at issue in the recall — testosterone cypionate — lasts longer in the body than other forms of the medication.
