    The Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County is excited to open up its gallery walls to the community with its annual Public Works Community Art Exhibition. This year marks the 20th anniversary of this community-based art show sponsored by Fayetteville PWC. Both 2-D and 3-D works will be accepted by any artist residing in Cumberland, Hoke, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland Counties, Fort Bragg or Pope Army Airfield. Submitting one work is $15, and submitting two is $20 total.

    County Manager Clarence Grier presented the Fiscal Year 2026 Recommended Annual Budget to the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners on Thursday, May 23. The proposed balanced budget includes $608,853,794 in expenditures across all County funds, with $404,639,839 appropriated to the General Fund, reflecting a 3% increase or $11.8 million over the current General Fund budget.

    At their regular meeting on May 19, the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners voted on a request from the Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) to rezone just under 45 acres of land east of Ramsey Street along Carvers Falls Road from planned neighborhood development to A1CZ which is agricultural district conditional zoning for a solar farm. PWC shared that the Carvers Fall solar farm represents approximately $9.5M investment in the  Fayetteville/Cumberland County community.
