Happy half year everyone! Believe it or not, we are now in June of 2025, officially halfway through the year. A few nights ago, I was looking over a vision board I had made at the beginning of the year. One of my best friends invited me to a vision board party where I was able to meet new people and get crafty with some scrapbooking paper and a lot of jewel stickers.

Fayetteville City Manager Douglas J. Hewett today announced the appointment of Roberto E. Bryan Jr. as the next chief of the Fayetteville Police Department at a press conference held at Fayetteville City Hall located at 433 Hay St. Bryan, a 30-year law-enforcement veteran and current Associate Vice Chancellor and Chief of Police at Fayetteville State University, will assume command on July 7.

The Fayetteville Metropolitan Housing Authority (FMHA) invited the community to celebrate the grand reopening of the Old Wilmington Road Neighborhood Resource Center located at 229 Lincoln Drive in Fayetteville on Thursday, May 15, at 10:30 am. A celebration nearly a decade in the making, the facility has been a work in progress since suffering damage from Hurricane Matthew in 2016.

A new brewery is in the works and expected to open to the Spring Lake community in summer of 2025. Little Heathen's Brewery, the newest addition to the Spring Lake area is looking to create a space for the community. The business idea of retired Veteran Adam Terry, the new space is located at 3266 Ray Road inside of the Anderson Creek Shopping Center. Terry, who began as an at home brewer, was working on this business before leaving the military in 2023.
