NORRISTOWN, PA — Several people were injured on the Norristown High Speed Line after a crash Sunday morning, according to officials and media reports. The incident occurred just before 10 a.m. at the end of the line at the Norristown Transportation Center. SEPTA has not yet released a cause for the crash, which involved the trolley crashing into the bumper at the end of the line. Fox 29 reports that one victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

A total of 2,500 scholars were chosen from 15,000 finalists to win the prestigious award. Each scholar will receive a $2,500 scholarship. The winning students from Upper Merion High School is King of Prussia resident Jenna Ronnie Xue, who plans to study medicine.

UPPER PROVIDENCE, PA — Black Rock Road will be shut down for months as construction gets underway to replace the bridge over Crossmans Run in Upper Providence, officials announced. Work will run from May 12 through Dec. 1, with Black Rock Road closed from Upper Indian Head Road to Ashenfelter Road. The detour will take drivers to Egypt Road and Route 29, and local access will be maintained. The single span, two-lane, 12-foot long bridge was built in 1925.
