NORRISTOWN, PA — Several people were injured on the Norristown High Speed Line after a crash Sunday morning, according to officials and media reports. The incident occurred just before 10 a.m. at the end of the line at the Norristown Transportation Center. SEPTA has not yet released a cause for the crash, which involved the trolley crashing into the bumper at the end of the line. Fox 29 reports that one victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

UPPER MERION, PA — An Upper Merion high school student is among the nation's elite after being chosen as a winner of a National Merit Scholarship. A total of 2,500 scholars were chosen from 15,000 finalists to win the prestigious award. Each scholar will receive a $2,500 scholarship. The winning students from Upper Merion High School is King of Prussia resident Jenna Ronnie Xue, who plans to study medicine.

The test will occur at 3 p.m.Officials said the station siren is only for "ceremonial purposes" and should not be confused with an emergency alarm.
