SHERIDAN — The Sheridan community has witnessed an undefeated dominant high school football team claim a three-peat and its 30th title in program history. It begs the question — Did we observe the greatest team to don the Broncs uniform? This year’s Broncs football team drubbed nearly all of its opponents. The regular season game against Cheyenne East was the lone game that came within one possession when the clock hit triple zeros.

SHERIDAN — A senior matched with a freshman was just the right pair Sheridan High School needed to clinch a 4A tennis title. Georgia Gould and Liv Katschke won the No. 3 doubles state championship Sept. 27 in Gillette. Head coach Bob Faurot matched Gould and Katschke three weeks into the season. He has led the team to four of 30 program championship wins. If there were a secret sauce to Sheridan’s success it would have been found by a 4A class foe by now.

LARAMIE — Big Horn fell shy of repeating as 2A state champions Friday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium. Torrington edged the Rams 28-26. “The kids battled and gave it all they had,” head coach Kirk McLaughlin said. “I know we came up short in this game, but to get here — the kids had to work so hard.” The Big Horn offense got off to a slow start with a pair of three and outs in its first two possessions. Torrington was the first to light the scoreboard.
