SHERIDAN — The Sheridan High School class of 2024’s freshman year was marked by turmoil and uncertainty as COVID-19 surged. But even a global pandemic couldn’t dampen the Broncs’ resolve; it made them all the more resilient and determined to make the next four years special, students said. “Coming into our freshman year, we were just getting out of quarantine ... it had been six months since we’d seen anyone,” senior Katelyn Reckard said.

Full disclosure, I am a former education/sports reporter at The Sheridan Press. In the Friday, May 10 edition of The Press, I was very disappointed to see a story about a top Sheridan County School District 2 official’s arrest for second degree sexual assault buried on the third page of the paper. Jacob Meyer is the virtual learning assistant principal for Sheridan High School, and according to an affidavit of probable cause, Meyer sexually assaulted a student at the school.
