NEWPORT, Tenn. (WATE) — Newport’s only food pantry, like many other areas, was destroyed in the flooding following the remnants of Helene moving through the area. The Bread Basket’s director shared with 6 News that their goal is to rebuild so they can continue serving the community. “We’re gonna rebuild. We’re gonna be better. We’re going to serve more people. We’re already in the makings of a new beginning for a new ending,” said Trish Clapper, the pantry’s director.
