EL DORADO, AR. (KTVE/KARD) — Gold Cross Urgent Care finally opened its doors on May 29th at 100 East Church Street in El Dorado. Founded by Dr. Ugo Nwude, the clinic is said to bridge the gap between primary care and emergency room care services and serve as a cost-effective solution for non-life-threatening medical issues that require immediate attention. Dr. Nwude, MD tells us that it became evident that there was a critical gap in urgent medical services within the community.

EL DORADO, AR. (KTVE/KARD) — Newhaven Recovery Lodge held its grand opening today where clients all over the Arklamiss in need of substance abuse treatment can receive care. The drug addiction treatment center began its opening at 11 A.M. where community members toured the facility and met the staff after hearing from guest speakers including Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin and Newhaven CEO Coleman Matthews.

Uniting a Community: What is an Ally? will happen this Saturday where discussions of the importance of being a united community will occur. The event begins at 3 P.M. at the Mahony Family Library and will feature guest speakers Dr. James McQuiston and Dr. LaQuinda Alexander.

EL DORADO, AR. (KTVE/KARD) — El Dorado School District (ESD) Food Services is now hosting its 2024 Summer Meal Program. Students finished out the school year last week with the El Dorado Education Foundation 25th Teacher Excellence Awards and headed home for summer break. Many families will need assistance during the break. Any child under the age of 18 can come grab breakfast and lunch from the food service van and food truck on select days.
