SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Community and city leaders gathered on Wednesday morning to celebrate the expansion of AM General’s Aftermarket Fulfillment and Training Center in South Bend — a facility that will be used for national defense services. Congressman Rudy Yakym was among those in attendance. He praised the defense contractor for its investment in South Bend. “It’s an incredible day for AM General and for Indiana’s second district,” Yakym said.

ELKHART Ind. (WNDU) - A long-awaited railroad improvement project has been completed and it is supposed to make driving in Elkhart easier. A ribbon cutting was held this morning to celebrate the project’s completion. Kalani Aaron was in Elkhart today and asked how these improvements will benefit drivers. Elkhart City Officials have called the project completion a milestone in delivering on their promise to have safer streets not just for the people driving but also the vehicles they drive.

ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - The Elkhart community came together on Memorial Day to honor fallen service members with a ceremony in the morning and then a parade in the afternoon. Motorcycles, floats, and lots of American flags were all on display in Elkhart. The parade kicked off just after 2 p.m. near Main Street. The location of the festivities alone was cause of celebration for some. Businesses off of Main Street were open and ready to serve the community.

ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - A man and woman in Elkhart are voicing their frustrations after their vehicle was damaged by road paint. This incident happened last August. But after months of trying to get a resolution with the company responsible for doing the painting, Ken Yoder and his wife reached out to WNDU 16 News Now. Yoder says he was driving along US-12 in Edwardsburg late last summer when a company — allegedly PK Contracting — was spraying the road with paint.

This week the cannabis industry took another step back. The state supreme court reversed an exemption for more than two dozen retail store applicants. Now they continue to wait for the legal process to play out while New York’s licensing process is reviewed regarding its constitutionality.
