Phoenix police are investigating a fatal stabbing at a downtown Phoenix bus stop that left one man dead. Sgt. Brian Bower, a department spokesperson, said officers responded to the area of 15th Avenue and Jefferson Street around 7 p.m. on Saturday, where they found a man, later identified as Walter MacDonald, 43, who had multiple stab wounds at a nearby bus stop. The man was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries, Bower confirmed.

A chlorine gas leak at Roaring Springs forced the closure of all inner canyon corridor trails at Grand Canyon National Park, officials posted Wednesday evening on X, formerly Twitter. Bright Angel Trail, North Kaibab Trail, and South Kaibab Trail are closed until further notice for both day and night hikers, the social media post said. Chlorine is routinely used at Roaring Springs as a disinfectant and added to water to control microbes.
