"Explores the creative explosion that took place within Asian American community, especially in jazz music, that was taking shape in the '80s and '90s," says Chung. She says it was a time when "a lot of musicians engage with activism" to speak up "against racism and discrimination."This is the first historical survey of its kind, based on archives.

"It's by Isaiah Zagar, who's known throughout Philadelphia for the mosaics," says Emily Smith, Executive Director of Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. "The space pulls you in."Zagar purchased the former auto repair shop in 2007, transforming it into an immersive art environment. "This was Isaiah's studio, so this was where he was really working a lot," says Smith.
