Another game that replicated much of what has gone before in this season. You cannot fault the effort of our players. They deserved a draw but were not good enough again and the curse of Portman Road continues. That we lost to a single, controversial moment sticks in the throat. The confusion around the moment of Brentford’s winner has been dissected to death. You are in either the ‘right decision was made’ camp, or you are on the side of still trying to fathom it all out.

Ipswich Town are relegated, but Karl Fuller is impressed with the fight they're showing (Image: Ross Halls) They say that 2-0 is a dangerous scoreline. How many times have we been on the wrong end of a 2-2 draw, or worse, when two in front? But Saturday's come-from-behind 2-2 draw at Everton showed that in the depths of our relegated squad, there is still so much fighting spirit. We put in an excellent performance overall.

One of many things I will not miss when this season finally ends will be going through the pain of our wretched home record any longer. Just as I ended last week with the comment that there was some fun still to be found in our finale in the top-flight, along came another dire result. But did Sunday’s heavy defeat come as any real surprise?…As I made my way to the game, it was in trepidation that it would be an afternoon where I really expected the worst and hoped for the best.

In the twilight of this first season back in the Premier League after a 22 year wait, it would be easy to just let it slip away without too much effort, given our perilous position. It is a matter of time before the dreaded ‘R’ appears next to our name in the league table.

I guess this was the kind of position in the table we would have taken with two games to go if offered at the start of the season. https://t.co/E4HPPzQkmj

Back to that goal ..if a keeper saves a penalty and ball rebounds to edge of box and a player from each side grapples each other to the ground, VAR checks for potential foul, none given, does the penalty then get retaken?
