A public consultation is expected to begin in a few months on Government proposals which could see cabins being built in back gardens without the need for planning permission. McDonald's Ireland has said that a technology outage which impacted their restaurants has now been resolved. The problem meant that some customers at outlets not only in Ireland but also in the UK, Germany, Austria, Japan, Australia and New Zealand were unable to order food in their restaurants for a time this morning. In a statement, a spokesperson for McDonald's Ireland confirmed that the issue was not related to a cyber-security issue and has now been resolved.

In a 75-page ruling, Mrs Justice Steyn described Mrs Vardy's evidence as "inconsistent", "evasive" or "implausible". Mrs Vardy lost her case and was left with a hefty legal bill of millions of pounds.
