Consumers in the Philadelphia area are spending more on groceries now compared to the same time last year, recent data shows. Global marketing research firm NielsenIQ compared the cost of eggs, chicken, ground beef, orange juice, bacon and bread in Philadelphia for the past year. It reveals one dozen eggs in Philadelphia cost $3.76 in April 2024. One year later, the price of one dozen eggs increased to $5.29. The height of egg prices in Philadelphia was in March of this year.

Just over 26% of Pennsylvania's 2.7 million drivers have a Real ID with less than a month before the federally mandated deadline to obtain the identification or not be able to use your ID to board a plane or enter a federal building, according to PennDOT. The deadline for Real ID enforcement is May 7, 2025. "As a reminder, Real ID is optional in Pennsylvania, which means Pennsylvanians can choose to get a Real ID driver license or photo ID," PennDOT spokesperson Aimee Inama said.

It was nearly two years ago when Angelia Taylor first heard about owning backyard chickens online. "Honestly, I was seeing it all over Facebook," Taylor told NBC10 Responds. "I bought four chickens, knowing nothing about the chickens," Taylor said. Now, Taylor has access to fresh eggs each day. She told NBC10 during the colder months she's able to collect about two to three eggs a day and eight eggs a day during the warmer months when the chickens lay more.
