A Pennsylvania State Police trooper came across quite the surprising animal trying to cross the road in Montgomery County and wound up reuniting the long lost reptile with its family. Trooper Lucious Fludd "found a large tortoise walking across the roadway," Trooper Paul Holdefer of Troop K said in a May 1, 2025, post on X. Fludd did some sleuthing and was able to get a hold of the reptile's owners since their information was written on its shell, troopers said.

A man died after crashing his car into a rack of bike share bicycles in South Philadelphia early Friday. The 41-year-old driver lost control of his SUV at 24th Jackson streets around 1:45 a.m. on May 2, 2025, Philadelphia police accident investigators said. The driver then slammed into an Indego bike rack, police said, knocking over some of the bikes. The driver died about an hour later at the hospital, police said. His passenger wasn't hurt.

Traffic slowly made its way past a burned out tractor-trailer along Interstate 295 in South Jersey Friday morning. Firefighters could be seen pouring water onto the truck wreckage on the shoulder of I-295 southbound north of Exit 36 / NJ 73 in Mount Laurel Township around 7 a.m.The crash that closed two of three lanes was first reported just before 6 a.m. on May 2, 2025, 511NJ reported.
