As an outsider to this aspect of college, I have always been a little envious of what everyone on this team has together. From my point of view, it’s a team, a sport, and more than both of these, a family. This is something I have always been looking for, and I know I could join if I wanted, but I am not the dancer-girl.

School is stressful. Though I have only gone through four semesters of college, being independent, learning to a higher degree, increased deep thinking etc., I have realized this is going to be a common theme. The last couple weeks are exceedingly harder than the rest, in so many different ways. This is the time of year where you have to try and remember all of the content that you learned just a couple months ago, without getting it confused for something you learned a year ago.

Ever since my 14th birthday, I have wanted to work. I would like to say I have a good work ethic, and even at times when I am so tired of working, I am still trying my best. Every time I have ever gotten paid for any of my jobs, I put it into the bank the moment I got it. My grandpa always said to save 10% of every check, and I think that I have done a pretty good job. Since I have been able to work, I have had four different jobs, which feels like a lot but they all have their stories.

I remember when I was in 8th grade, everyone in all of my classes was talking about this new app that they had been on for the past few months. They were all obsessed with it. This was my introduction to TikTok. I was convinced it wouldnât be anything crazy. Itâs just another random app that they would spend countless hours on, just like any other addiction to Instagram or Snapchat. Even at such a young age I knew this.

Though the new year started almost three months ago, it’s the beginning of MY new year. My birthday just came around again, for the 20th time, and I thought, what better way for me to go into the 20th version of me than with a little reflection on the 19th version? In the past year, a lot has changed in my life while also not being that different at all. I started the year out in not the best place.
