Ever since my 14th birthday, I have wanted to work. I would like to say I have a good work ethic, and even at times when I am so tired of working, I am still trying my best. Every time I have ever gotten paid for any of my jobs, I put it into the bank the moment I got it. My grandpa always said to save 10% of every check, and I think that I have done a pretty good job. Since I have been able to work, I have had four different jobs, which feels like a lot but they all have their stories.

I remember when I was in 8th grade, everyone in all of my classes was talking about this new app that they had been on for the past few months. They were all obsessed with it. This was my introduction to TikTok. I was convinced it wouldn’t be anything crazy. It’s just another random app that they would spend countless hours on, just like any other addiction to Instagram or Snapchat. Even at such a young age I knew this.

Though the new year started almost three months ago, it’s the beginning of MY new year. My birthday just came around again, for the 20th time, and I thought, what better way for me to go into the 20th version of me than with a little reflection on the 19th version? In the past year, a lot has changed in my life while also not being that different at all. I started the year out in not the best place.

Throughout our early lives, we will go through numerous relationships, trying to find our people. When I was little, I remember hearing everyone say, guy friendships are easier, or that girl friendships have too much drama. As I have gone through life, I have always had that little struggle of finding the right friends. Because in all reality girl friends can be a lot.

February is the month of birthdays. At least, it has always been that way growing up. I always thought that was weird; the shortest month has the most celebrations? My friends from high school, my boyfriend, my sisters and I, and what seems like so many more people all have birthdays in the same 28-day month. I have three sisters. Out of the four of us, three of us were born in February. Isn’t that crazy? In the fall, it’s my little sister’s birthday, but the rest of us were born in February.
