    Amidst Australia’s cost-of-living crisis, a surge in shoplifting has compelled supermarkets to implement heightened surveillance measures. A major supermarket recently reported an annual 20 per cent rise in stock loss, which was partly attributed to theft. The Australian Bureau of Statistics June 2023 report showed a 17 per cent increase in retail theft. In response, supermarkets said they had no choice but to increase security measures to reduce shoplifting.

    Lehigh’s Business Innovation Building is set to finish construction on March 3 and will begin hosting classes after spring break. Construction on the building started in April 2021. It was originally projected to be completed in November 2022 and open for classes in January 2023. Georgette Phillips, dean of the College of Business, said the leading cause of the delay was the environmentally sustainable doors the university purchased.

    Four Ithaca College students created a social media campaign called The Fresh 15 to bust the myth that students gain 15 pounds in their first year at college and to identify other aspects of college to focus on. Sophomores Julia Freitor, Jaime von Bartheld, Katie Miller and junior Roxanne Palladino needed a campaign subject for their Introduction to Public Relations class in Fall 2022. That was when they created The Fresh 15 — a play on the term freshman 15.
