TCS treasurer resignsTIFFIN — Tiffin City School Treasurer Ryan Cook formally resigned Monday afternoon after serving the district just over a year. According to his resignation letter, Cook is resigning at the end of his contract, July 31, because he was selected as the new treasurer for Columbus City Schools. His new role was approved by Columbus City Schools’ Board of Education Monday morning during a special meeting.

TIFFIN --- The City of Tiffin’s Parks and Recreation Department continues to bring special events for residents. Thursday Night Tunes“Thursday Night Tunes started Fall of 2019 when Cindy Jordan found three local bands that would kick off this is tradition,” Parks Director Bryce Kuhn explained. The performances will start at 7 p.m. June 20 each Thursday and will continue until Aug. 15, excluding July 4.

TPD and TFRD to conduct safety trainingTIFFIN – Last week, Tiffin City Schools announced that two of its facilities will be hosting Tiffin Police Department and Tiffin Fire/Rescue Division for the departments’ annual active shooter training. The A-T spoke with Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly, Tiffin Fire/Rescue Division Chief Rob Chappell and Tiffin City Schools Superintendent Ben Richards about the training.

TIFFIN – Tiffin City School district has started cutbacks in the district. “The board and I have continued to look at the five-year forecast which is not positive in our district,” district Superintendent Ben Richards told the A-T. “We continue to look at areas where we can cut spending prior to going to our voters for additional funds.”One area identified by the superintendent and the Board of Education is the assistant superintendent position, currently held by Robert Boes.
