DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton women’s basketball senior Ivy Wolf is set to compete in the national three-point shooting contest in San Antonio, the site of the men’s Final Four. The contest is part of the 36th annual College Slam Dunk and 3-Point Championships. Wolf made 263 three-pointers and shot 36 percent beyond the arc over her college career at Miami (Ohio) and Dayton. Wolf also shot a career 37 percent from three in high school.

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WDTN) – Xavier head coach Sean Miller has emerged as a top candidate for the Texas Longhorns’ vacant head coach position, the Austin American-Statesman reported Sunday. Miller led Xavier to a 13-point comeback against Texas in the NCAA First Four on Wednesday. The Musketeers went on to win 86-80. The Longhorns parted ways with head coach Rodney Terry after the loss.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Marion Local boy’s basketball came up just short in the OHSAA Division 6 state final, falling to Monroe Central 43-35. The Flyers finished their impressive season 26-3. Austin Niekamp and Grant Kremer finished in double figures for the Flyers, scoring 13 and 11 points, respectively. “It was hard, there was a lot of tears and a lot of laughter at the same time, every single dude in there hugged every other dude in there,” Marion Local head coach Kurt Goettemoeller said.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Russia boy’s basketball capped off its perfect 2025 season with a 74-57 win over Cornerstone Christian in the Division 7 state final. The Raiders’ win Saturday marked the program’s 1000th all-time, as well as its first state title and a 29-0 season. Three Raiders finished in double figures: Braylon Cordonnier (22 points, team-high), Dominic Francis (21 points) and Vince Borchers (14 points).

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WDTN) – No. 2-seed Miami men’s basketball punched its ticket to the MAC championship after edging No. 3-seed Kent State 72-64 in the semifinal Friday night. After a neck-and-neck battle throughout, the RedHawks outscored the Golden Flashes 9-3 in the final three minutes to close it out. Peter Suder recorded a double-double in the Hawks’ win, leading the team in points and rebounds with 23 and 11, respectively.
