CHILTON, Texas (KWTX) - Clarence holder remembers the time when he thought all cowboys or white. That changed the day he visited the Heart ‘O Texas Coliseum in Waco to see a friend at the rodeo. “He rode his bull. The next man out was Myrtis Dightman, Black cowboy. After that, I mean, after that I wanted to be the cowboy,” Holder said. Dightman, widely known as the “Jackie Robinson of rodeo,” was the first Black cowboy to compete in the National Rodeo Finals.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Here is this week’s Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas: El Norteño Mexican Restaurant at 7896 North Highway 6 in Woodway failed a renewal inspection with a 70, including 30 demerits, and was penalized. According to the food safety report, this restaurant was shut down until the violations that could make someone sick were corrected.

WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Here is this week’s restaurant report card for Central Texas. Taqueria El Charro Tapatio #7 at 1615 West Waco Drive in Waco failed a routine inspection with a score of 68. It received 32 demerits and was penalized. According to the food safety worker, some diced tomatoes, Pico de Gallo, guacamole, mozzarella cheese, barbacoa, pastor, sausage, and uncooked corn and beans were thrown out. They were not kept at the right temperature.

(KWTX) - Here’s this week’s Restaurant Report Card for Central Texas:Tres Hermanos Mexican Restaurant LLC at 10209 Cougar Ridge Parkway in Waco failed a renewal inspection with a 67 and was penalized. (33 demerits)According to the food safety worker, by the grill, the eggs, sliced cheese, diced bell peppers, chile rellano mix, corn, ranch dressing and salsa were thrown out because they weren’t kept at the right temperature. Some chicken was reheated.

(KWTX) - Here is the Restaurant Report Card for May 22, 2025: Pizza House/Gerik’s Bakery at 505 West Oak Street in West failed a renewal inspection with a score if 54 that included 46 demerits!According to the food safety report, some of the more serious violations include a container of refried beans was sitting out on the counter that needed to be reheated, the bacon bits, Canadian bacon, sliced pepperoni, and sliced mushrooms we’re not kept at the right temperature.
